Gutter Installation FAQ

How long does it take to install gutters on a house?

Most Austin gutter installation projects take Gutterilla no longer than a single work day to complete, even with gutter replacement. But, larger homes or complicated roof lines can take 2-3 days to finish. The timeframe depends on the size of the home and the scope of work.

Do I need to be at home when Gutterilla does my gutter installation?

At Gutterilla, we always enjoy being able to see our clients satisfaction with our work upon completion. But we also understand you may have a busy schedule where you cannot be there while we work to protect your home. We do our best to be flexible.

Who does gutter installation and repair?

You will find many roofing companies offering gutter installation. But gutters are more related to the foundation than your roof. At Gutterilla, we offer gutter installation because found a lot of our crawlspace waterproofing customers needed to better manage the rain water flow away from their foundation. Since our sister company, Stellrr Insulation, provides crawlspace encapsulation to protect the foundation, it makes sense to also target the root cause of the problem.

Do it add value to a home to have gutters?

Yes. Especially around Austin Tx. When a educated homebuyer sees that the house is missing gutters, they likely assume water damage has occurred. This assumption is not wrong. The #1 cause of foundation damage is inadequate drainage. Gutter installation is critical for water management during our Central Texas rain storms.

How much does gutter installation cost around?

The cost to have gutters installed depends on the gutter material, gutter type, house size, number of downspouts, and number of corners.

At Gutterilla, we install a complete water management system called GutterShutter™. We install both residential and commercial systems. This system includes the gutter, gutter protection, gutter drainage, and gutter chutes to properly divert the water from your home’s foundation. How can gutters be installed without fascia?

While gutters are often installed onto the fascia board, some homes don’t have fascia boards. There are options for installing gutters on your house, but Gutterilla would need to do an inspection on your house to make a recommendation.

How much slope do rain gutters need?

In the ideal situation, gutter slope should be 1/4 inch per linear foot. But because homes settle, this can vary. At Gutterilla we take into account both the aesthetics and functionality when installing gutters. So sometimes we may suggest adding extra downspouts to make everything work right.

What size gutter trough does Gutterilla do for gutter installation?

Our patented system uses a six-inch gutter. The larger the gutter, the more water it can handle – especially in rainstorms. Narrower gutters work great in places like Portland and Seattle, where it is a steady drizzle for days. But in Austin we have flooding storms throughout the year.

The problem with bigger gutters is they can catch debris, which is why it is vital to have a full gutter protection system like we deliver with GutterShutter.

How difficult is gutter installation?

Installing gutters is very hard, particularly with two story homes. We are always heartbroken when we hear of people getting hurt trying to hang their own gutters. It is even more dangerous doing gutter cleaning on gutters without gutter guards. Please let us help you protect your heath and safety. We are your gutter experts.
